FME Accelerator

Join our free and interactive workshop, Wed. 6th March, 10am – 11.30am, to learn how to make the most use out of your data with FME.  This is for users beginning their FME journeys and for users refreshing their FME knowledge. 

The FME Accelerator will show you the basics of how to automate your data integration workflows and connect to 450+ formats.  Spend more time using data and less time fighting it.

No prior FME, coding or GIS experience is required.  This workshop is for anyone interested in maximising the value of their data with FME.  This workshop is particularly helpful to anyone who is a Data, BI, GIS and IT professional.

FME Form Standard (Beginner) Training

Overview:

This training builds a strong foundation for using FME Form (desktop), including extensive hands-on, problem-solving exercises.

This course introduces basic concepts and terminology, help you become an efficient user of FME, and direct you to resources to help apply the product to your own needs.

FME Form Advanced Training

Overview:

This training course is intended for persons with some prior experience of using FME.  It builds upon the basic framework of workspace creation in FME Form. The course covers topics commonly used by all workspace authors who wish to take their FME skills to the next level.

FME Form Advanced Training

The course consists of nine main sections:

  • Read From and Write To Multiple Locations.
  • Work with Multiple Data Models Using Lists.
  • Leverage Ordered Data.
  • Improve Data Quality by Handling Null and Missing Values.
  • Visually Compare and Merge Workflows.
  • Design Modular and Maintainable Workspaces with Custom Transformers.
  • Build a Shared Library of Custom Transformers.
  • Design For Performance.
  • Optimise Workspace Performance.

Learning Objectives:

  • Use advanced parameters.
  • Improve FME Form performance.
  • Create custom transformers.
  • Optimise reading and writing for increased flexibility.
  • Apply advanced attribute handling.

FME Flow Training

Overview:

This course is key for FME users intending to author workspaces for use on FME Flow. Through hands on exercises, learn the advanced skills, knowledge, and terminology that users need to know in order to produce workspaces optimised for FME Flow. The training will introduce basic concepts and terminology, help you become an efficient FME Flow user, and direct you to resources to help apply the product to your own needs.

  • Self-Serve Basics.
  • Real-Time with FME Server.

  • Produce workspaces optimised for FME Flow.
  • Author a variety of FME Flow Services.
  • Automate workspaces using FME Flow.
  • Create notifications.
  • Group components using FME Flow Projects.

FME, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online

FME integrates well with the ESRI ArcGIS suite, and this course will show how you can set up FME to work with ESRI.

It will cover traditional data formats and using ArcGIS Pro with FME to enable access, as well as how you use the next generation of GIS platforms like ArcGIS Online or Portal Feature services including attachments within FME.

We will also look at how you can use Geodatabases within FME including domains, relationships, metadata, and annotations and cover how you can use FME to build a raster catalogue within a GeoDatabase too.

FME & Rest API

Overview:

The FME Flow REST API training is a new course that teaches FME users how to master the FME Flow REST API.

Interacting with the FME Server REST API (Part 1):

  • Getting started with the REST API 
  • Using an HTTP Caller to make calls to the FME Flow
  • Interacting with Workspaces
  • Web Services and the REST API
  • Complex Queries in Postman
  • Server Administration Tasks
  • Job Routing

Developing with the FME Server REST API (Part 2):

  • Best Practices when Building a Web Application
  • Creating a Dynamically Populated Form
  • Data Distribution Using ArcGIS Maps
  • Data Visualisation using ArcGIS
  • Data Uploads and Downloads

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand REST architecture and how to create calls
  • Integrate the FME Flow REST API into a workspace
  • Utilise the FME Flow REST API calls to complete Flow Administration Tasks
  • Learn how to properly use the FME Flow JaveScript API
  • Build web applications to view or process data

Prerequisites:

Part 1:

This course is designed for users who have experience using FME.  It is recommended that users be familiar with the content covered in the FME Form Basic and FME Flow Authoring courses.  No previous coding experience or experience with APIs is required for this course.

Part 2:

Interacting with the FME Flow REST API (Part 1) or equivalent knowledge, including familiarity with JavaScript, HTML and CSS.  This course is designed for users who have experience using FME Form, FME Flow and interacting with REST APIs.  It is recommended that users be familiar with the content covered in the FME Form Basic and FME Flow Authoring courses.
